North of society
Howdy folks, here I go again.
This season, I’m trading one long, hot summer for bear country and heading north – way north. I’ll attempt to thru-hike Canada’s Great Divide Trail: 1,200 km of rugged wilderness, home to grizzlies, alpine passes, and wild rivers, stretching from the US border to Kakwa Lake in the north.
This isn’t just another walk in the park. The GDT has its own raw beauty – and with it comes solitude. Few hikers, room to breathe, and plenty of into-the-wild energy. That’s exactly what I’m after. I’ll be hiking almost every day, chasing highs, lows, and everything in between.
Follow along as I try to stay dry, keep the bruins at bay, and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Peace out.
